Jennifer N. Fish

Jennifer N. Fish is a sociologist who focuses on women’s labor, migration, and transnational activism. She is the author of five books, as well as a series of organizational reports for policy and research organizations worldwide, including the International Labor Organization of the United Nations. She has accompanied the South African Domestic Service and Allied Workers Union and the International Domestic Workers Federation as a lead writer and documentarian for two decades. Her work has been funded by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada, the Centre for Global Social Policy at the University of Toronto, and the US Embassy of South Africa. Fish is Professor and Eminent Scholar at Old Dominion University, where she teaches in the World Cultural Studies program and the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies.
