Feminism: Controversies, Challenges, Actions

The Center commissioned a short documentary film to reflect on the first three decades of the Scholar & Feminist Conference, as well as to trace the history of the last thirty years of feminist movements in America. The result, “Past, Present and Future Feminisms,” was shown at the opening of the 30th conference and started the day on an extremely positive note. Filmmaker Rebecca Haimowitz did such an excellent job with this project that a number of people have contacted us about using the film in various settings, including academic courses and activist meetings. We’re proud to present the now retitled film here in two parts: “The Scholar & The Feminist Conference,” covering the history of the conference specifically and “Feminism: Controversies, Challenges, Actions,” addressing the history of the feminist movement of which the conference is a part.
