Youree Kim
Youree Kim is an interdisciplinary artist, activist, and researcher. They have Master’s in Public Policy with concentration on human rights from Adler University and BFA in socially engaged art from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Their work seeks to navigate the complicated realities of how disabilities are produced, perceived, and represented in the face of critical socio- political issues. They were a recipient of ADAPT Women of Year, National Council on Independent Living Youth Scholarship, Illinois Humanities and Crossroads grant, IGNITE Fund at 3ARTs and Andy Warhol Foundation, and so forth. Their writings have been published in Truthout, AK Press, and riksha magazine. They participated in the residency programs at ACRE (2022) and Chicago Artist Coalition (2023-2024).
