Marianne Hirsch

Marianne Hirsch is Ted and Helen Geisel Third Century Professor in the Humanities at Dartmouth College where she teaches French, Comparative Literature, Women’s Studies and Jewish Studies. Her books include Family Frames: Photography, Narrative, and PostmemoryThe Mother/Daughter Plot: Narrative, Psychoanalysis, Feminism; the edited collection The Familial Gaze, and a special issue of Signs, 28:1, on Gender and Cultural Memory. She is currently writing a book with Leo Spitzer, entitled Ghosts of Home: Czernowitz and the Holocaust.
