Gwendolyn Fowler
Gwendolyn Fowler is a PhD candidate in the History program at Rutgers University. Her research focuses on the women of the welfare rights movement. Specifically, she researches the work of the welfare rights group the Westside Mothers of Detroit, Michigan, to address the historical silence surrounding the movement and its erasure from movement histories of the 20th century. She received her BA in History from Rutgers University-Newark and her MA in Women’s History from Sarah Lawrence College.
