Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak

Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak is the Avalon Foundation Professor in the Humanities and the Director of the Center for Comparative Literature and Society at Columbia University. She received her B.A. in English from Presidency College, Calcutta, 1959, and her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Cornell University, 1967. Her scholarship is in the fields of feminism, marxism, deconstruction, globalization. Her books include Myself Must I Remake: The Life and Poetry of W. B.
