Alissa Trotz

Alissa Trotz is a professor of Caribbean studies at New College and of women and gender studies at the University of Toronto, and is affiliate faculty at the Dame Nita Barrow Institute of Gender and Development Studies at the University of the West Indies at Cave Hill, Barbados. She is a member of Red Thread (a women’s organization) in Guyana and the editor of “In the Diaspora” a weekly column in the Guyanese daily Stabroek News. She is co-editor, with Arif Bulkan, of Unmasking the State: Politics, Society and the Economy in Guyana, 1992-2015 (Ian Randle Publishers, 2019) and editor of the anthology The Point Is to Change the World: Selected Writings by Andaiye (forthcoming, Pluto Press Black Critique Series, April 2020)
