Alex Pittman

Alex Pittman is a performance studies scholar whose research and teaching engage with feminist and queer critiques of racial capitalism that have been carried out through performing, literary, and lens-based art forms since the 1960s. His publications and editorial projects can be found in Camera Obscura, Criticism, Women & Performance, ASAP/J’s Black One Shot series, Social Text’s Periscope, and Radical Teacher. He has taught in Barnard College’s Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Department since 2015.
